  • MSU Venue
    A dynamic space for large events, performances, and student gatherings. Email events@msu.ie to book and submit your Event Management Plan at least 10 days prior.

    Book by emailing events@msu.ie and be sure to submit an Event Management Plan 10 days before your event.
     

  • Meeting Room Alder
    Located in the MSU Foyer, this cozy room seats up to 6 people – perfect for study groups or small meetings. Book through Skedda.
     

  • Meeting Room Silken Thomas Yew
    This spacious first-floor room accommodates up to 12, ideal for training sessions, seminars, and team meetings. Book through Skedda.
     

  • MSU Info Centre
    Host coffee mornings, launch campaigns, or book for evening workshops. Book through Skedda.
     

  • MSU Club Bar FoyerSet up a table to sell tickets, launch campaigns, or engage students in this high-traffic area. Book through Skedda.
     

Event Management & Special Requests

For events in the MSU Venue, submit your Event Management Plan (EMP) to events@msu.ie at least 10 days before your event. This helps us provide the right resources, including technical support, health & safety provisions, and any specific setup needs you may have.

Note: The MSU facilities are available for MU and SPPU students, staff, and approved clubs and societies. External groups may request access subject to MSU approval.
 

Facility Rules

  • Booking Requirements: All bookings must be made with an email associated with msu.ie, mumail.ie, mu.ie, spcmail.ie domains. Bookings from other emails will not be accepted.
     
  • Windows: If roof windows are opened during your booking, please ensure they are closed before leaving.
     
  • Responsibility: Individuals booking MSU facilities are accountable for their activities and conduct while on site.
     
  • Food Policy: No food is allowed in meeting rooms.
     
  • Waste Disposal: Please dispose of all rubbish in corridor bins; larger waste should be taken to bins at the rear of the Bar to avoid fire hazards in hallways.
     
  • Report Issues: For any issues or facility concerns, contact us at bookings@msu.ie.
     
  • Damage Policy: Any damage beyond standard wear and tear will be charged to the reserving party.
     
  • Alcohol Restrictions: Alcohol is only permitted in licensed areas, specifically the MSU Bar & Venue.
     
  • Activity Consistency: All on-site activities must align with the details provided in the booking application.
     
  • Room Sign-In: Please sign the Room Sign-In sheet located in each room upon arrival.
     
  • Booking Timeliness: Rooms will be reassigned if not occupied within 20 minutes of the booking start time.
     
  • Rule Compliance: Breaches of these room rules may result in disciplinary action and restrictions on future bookings.
     
  • Room Condition: Rooms should be left clean, with furniture returned to its original layout for the next user.
     

Health & Safety Guidelines

  • Fire Alarms: If a fire alarm sounds, evacuate immediately and do not attempt to re-enter until given permission.
     
  • Emergency Exits: Keep all emergency exits clear at all times.
     
  • In Case of Fire: Activate the nearest fire alarm, call the fire brigade (112), and exit the building. Report the incident to MSU staff (wearing HI-VIS jackets) at the assembly point in Car Park 1.
     
  • Safety of Others: Avoid activities that could potentially harm others, physically or mentally.
     
  • Capacity Limits: Observe room capacity limits at all times. Events will be stopped if capacities are exceeded or if unsafe behaviors are observed.
     
  • Event Safety: Health & Safety controls specified in Event Management Plans must be strictly followed. MSU may conduct safety checks on-site.
     
  • Hazard Reporting: Report any hazards immediately to MSU reception or Bar management for swift resolution.
