Charity Week 2019: Feb. 15-22

Maynooth Students’ Union will be running their Charity Week this February (15-22) alongside MU Clubs and Societies. Each year MU Clubs & Socs choose a Charity to support and this year it is the amazing Barretstown, who offer activities and camps for children living with serious illness. Last year we raised €6,000 for our chosen charity over the course of a full year. This year we aim to beat that total in one week!

What's Planned?

Our message for the week is '‘Do your thing and make a BIG difference’. In a typical week, students will eat out, attend events, buy drinks and generally go about their lives in Maynooth. We are negotiating with our charity partners to see a charitable donation included in certain purchases. You are then donating without having to think about it! Keep an eye on this space to see what we mean...

We will also be running w week of events in the SU. Your Space will become the Charity Week Hub for the week with coffee mornings, craft classes, sports challenges and more happening all day. We will also be running special events in the SU Bar in the evenings. Again, watch this space!

About Barretstown

A different fundraising partner is chosen by Maynooth students each year. This year students voted for Barretstown. Barretstown run residential camps and programmes for children and their families affected by cancer and serious illness. They offer a range of adventurous, fun and challenging activities which are supported behind the scenes by 24 hour on site medical and nursing care. We are proud to fundraise on behalf of Barretstown and we look forward to your support and assistance in raising as much money as possible.
