About Ibrahim Halawa:
Ibrahim Halawa, a 22-year-old Irishman, spent more than four years of his life in prison in Egypt, after he was arrested on a family summer holiday. He was released on 20 October after being acquitted of all the charges against him. He was detained by the Egyptian security forces after he and three of his sisters were caught up in a siege at a mosque in Cairo in August 2013. The women were freed and allowed to return home within three months, but their teenage brother was kept in jail. He faced a mass trial with hundreds of others under threat of the death penalty.
The teenager was then accused, along with nearly 500 others, of inciting violence, riot and sabotage and faced a mass trial. However, with so many defendants involved in the case, the case was constantly deferred and it took years to come to court. During his four-year imprisonment, Ibrahim Halawa staged a series of intermittent hunger strikes in protest against his continued detention without trial.
After the 20th adjournment, Somaia Halawa warned: "The sad reality is my brother is dying in an Egyptian prison, facing a mass trial, which at this rate will take over 10 years. "Given Ibrahim's current mental and physical state we don't believe he will be strong enough to survive that delay." The trial finally got under way in August 2017. On 18 September, Ibrahim Halawa was acquitted on all charges he faced.
The inspiration for EMBRACE came about after I posted an unconventional before-and-after image on the internet in 2013 that sparked an international media frenzy. The image, which embraces body diversity, was seen by over 100 million people worldwide and led to hundreds of interviews and articles. But I soon realized how restrictive 4-minute TV interviews, 800 word articles and 140 characters on Twitter can be. This issue needed a louder voice on a bigger platform, so the idea of creating the documentary EMBRACE was born.” – Embrace Director Taryn Brumfitt
Embrace is told from the point of view of Taryn as she traverses the globe talking to experts, women in the street and well-known personalities about the alarming rates of body image issues that are seen in people of all body types. In her affable and effervescent style, Taryn bares all (literally) to explore the factors contributing to this problem and seeks to find solutions. After 24 months of travelling, interviewing, production and post production Taryn and the Embrace team have created a film that is relevant, relatable, highly engaging – but above all life changing.

ABOUT ROSANNA DAVISON:
As a qualified and insured Nutritional Therapist and a graduate of the College of Naturopathic Medicine, I have also studied with the US-based Institute of Functional Medicine. Since qualifying in 2013, I have been building my experience by working with regular private clients to develop an entire nutrition programme and lifestyle designed to target their specific health and beauty complaints, including hair loss, acne, weight loss and obesity, digestive disfunction, autoimmune disease, infertility, endocrine imbalances and much more.
In my tailor-made programmes, I draw up a new approach to eating and nutritional supplementation, depending on their unique individual biochemistry and their entire health history. I bring clients shopping for food and cook for them to demonstrate alternative ways of preparing meals and snacks with healthier ingredients, and tasty alternatives to typically problematic foods for many, such as gluten, soy, sugar and eggs.
Now for the first time, I’m bringing my tried and tested, scientific evidence-based approach to food, health and wellness to the public sphere. Every single recipe, article and health tip is designed to enable you to reach your highest health and beauty potential, and I prepare, cook and photograph each recipe myself.
Glowing, younger-looking skin, glossy hair, a smoother complexion, a slimmer waist, improved sleep, boundless energy and so much more, are what you can expect from my easy-to-follow tips and simple, nutritious recipes. I have spent the past five years working hard to achieve my goal of becoming an expert on plant-based nutrition, and whether you’re interested in moving over to an entirely plant-based lifestyle or just want to dip in and out of it every so often with healthy meals and sweet treats, my aim is to provide enough information and inspiration for everyone.
